Unbeliever's Guide to Lord Vendredi's Quest Items
Arriving at the port town of Sigil, you notice a magical aura around the city. A city devoid of player killing, you feel safe and secure entering the gates of Sigil. Sigil is a city surrounded by a large river. If you head to the castle, you will notice the four Sigilian classifications of knights (Silver Unicorn, Raven, Burning Hand, Green Shrub).
Though many take him to be a laid back and happy-go-lucky man, Lord Vendredi is a strong leader with a realistic view of the world of Alyria in addition to having a strong vision for Sigil. Working with other leaders, he has helped battle the dark forces that have sought to overtake Alyria. Coming from a line of rulers, his sense of honor and duty have served him well since he was thrust upon the throne when his older brother was killed in a hunting accident. This sense of duty has resulted in a constant stream of emissaries and other travelers coming to the castle to appeal to him for aid or favors of various types. Other traits and specifics:
Lord Vendredi is one member of the Great Council, the world's most powerful leaders. The Council meets annually to discuss local and worldlier matters, to clear up any disagreements before they become escalated. Lord Vendredi is well known for his interesting and magical toys - it is rumored that he had his heart set on being a toymaker, but his elder brother died unexpectedly and left him the throne.

The soldier is crafted of noon-forged iron, which is well-known against evil, for they cannot touch it. The metal has been painted in highly reflective, brilliant colors. A very fine piece of work, too good, in fact, for a normal child's toy. You wonder at what other possible uses the toy soldier could have...

Commentary: If this item is held or in your inventory, this item can transform into a mob that assists you in fights. Chance to transform = 75% per 10 seconds. If this mob dies, you lose your iron toy soldier. This item is really helpful for higher levels so they can solo the higher level mobs. Not much practical usage for lower ones. It is rumored that personality affects how much he transforms/wears equipment.
A sapphire gemstone
This multifaceted gemstone seems to swirl with the blue green tints of the ocean. Light plays along the surface only to be drawn down to be lost within its icy depths. It vibrates with an unseen power that permiates all around it. You feel compelled to hold it.

This wand is made of very fine holly wood, slightly twisted. It's about 13 inches long and has a good weight to it. Sparks fly from the end as you turn it around and around, examining it. A highly-ornate letter 'V' is engraved on one end.

Commentary: This is a must for any archon. This wand does great damage and is also coupled with +7 SvP which helps in resisting web. On top of that it has the flaming attribute which helps in toasting Minotaurs. This item is also nodrop, nouncurse, which means you can never lose it through the means of CPK.

This is a special book with paper designed to hold magical spells. Ordinary paper will not work due to the probability of magical leakage - in some cases, the spells have been known to blend together when copied to inexpensive paper, and take on a life of their own. This usually has disastrous consequences for anyone who happens to be nearby when it happens, of course.

Commentary: This is probably the best readily accessible spellbook in the game. It can hold 600 complexity points which is about double to the Focault spellbook. If you are a class with a lot of spells, I would recommend purchasing this little beauty.

Commentary: This is another good spellbook, but I would personally quest the extra 750 qp for a black spellbook. You can get these for decent gold off of auction. One benefit to this book is 2nd classers can use it.

This is a magical spell scroll, written by wizards and containing the instructions on how to perform a magical spell. Other wizards can 'scribe' it into their spellbooks and thus learn the spell in order to cast it many times, or it can be cast directly from the scroll one time if necessary.

Commentary: This scroll allows you to make a portal from one city to another when casted. This is a must scroll for wizards. The only drawback for nexus is you need a target at the other end, and even then it’s an acceptable risk.

Commentary: Most people just throw smoke bombs these days in order to save the astral cost for the momentary darkness spell. Smoke bombs are readily available at various shops around Alyria. If you want to complete your pk spell arsenal, a room darkening spell is a must.

The box is about a foot across, both ways, and is made of heavy mahogany wood, highly polished. There are deeply carved ornaments running along each side, in strange and alarming patterns, almost as if they were invoking some kind of force... You can't see any obvious way of opening the box.

Commentary: This is a nifty little item; it produces reagents at regular intervals. You can also store your equipment in the puzzle box to avoid it from getting CPK’ed. For the price it’s a nice little mini trunk/reag producer. Only drawback is it can’t be restrung into something else.
A wooden rocking horse
The horse is rather plainly carved - there isn't too much detail except around the face, where you could swear the eyes are looking back at you. The back of the horse has a fashioned leather saddle, which, strangely enough, might just fit you.

Commentary: Nice travel item for the lowbie. It has a steep quest point cost, so if you have other things on your priority list, wait to purchase this. It is easy enough to get around anywhere without having to spend 10k qp.

The box has strange designs carved into it and illuminated with brilliant colors. A curved iron handle protrudes from one side of the box. You hear faint musical notes as you shift the item and the handle moves slightly.
