Pueblo™ FAQ
How do I connect to Materia Magica using the Pueblo client?
Pueblo is a free client and gives superb performance, which is supported by multiple Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows, Unix and Linux. However if you run this program through Unix based operating system you will need to change the key format which can be done in Edit, Preferences, Tab-Text Input then click Emacs Standard for Editing Keys. It has a smooth and constant transfer of data onto the screen, allowing for fluid game play. Pueblo has several other features including a built in web browser, support for plug-ins, Avatars, Music and Pictures.
Triggers, aliases and speed-walks are a fair bit harder to use, so this client is more ideal for either advanced users or those who aren't looking for client specifically with an interface for triggers. Although not all completely customizable, the colors in this client show off their uniqueness while playing such games as Materia Magica; instead of using the general Darker/Lighter colors it uses Bold to indicate high intensity color (See HELP COLOR). Fonts and Basic colors like background and regular text colors may be customized through the colors tab in then menu under Edit then Preferences. This client also supports easy logging if you ever wish to log your sessions on Materia Magica.
The client is currently available from several sites, such as http://pueblo.mozdev.org/downloads.html and http://www.moo.ca/pueblo/. If you're interested in such things, you can also download the source code and tinker around with it.
Once you've downloaded the 3.92mb file from either of the sites listed above, simply run it and go to the directory where you installed it. Pueblo.exe will open the client, to connect quickly to Materia Magica without adding a private character simply click Worlds then QuickConnect. This will open up a display box asking for a Host and Port; put "materiamagica.com" as the host and "4000" for the port, then hit Connect.
To add a personal character to your list click the "Edit your personal list" button on the main display, this will open up a box showing your current personal world list and several buttons on the side. Click the Add button, this will open up another box asking for several things; under the name put the name of the connection (This can be anything you like, including your Character's name). Under host place "materiamagica.com" and under port place "4000". User name and Password are optional, but you may place your Character's Name and their Password in these areas to make it easier when logging in. Web-page and Description are also optional. After completing all that, hit ok on both display boxes and it should be added the main display of the client. To connect using this just click on the name of the connection and it should do everything itself.
